My Most Important Video Games of the Decade: #6 – #4

Three more games added to my best of the decade list? Don’t mind if I do. I almost felt bad about how many games that appear on this list ended up being first person shooters. But ended up brushing those concerns under the rug pretty quickly. Video Games are delivery method for story telling for me, and what better way is there to effectively convey story than through a genre everyone understands all too well.

At this point, there is very little teaching required to get players up to speed when playing first person shooters. In general, they all control pretty much the same, especially on console where Call of Duty pretty much set the standard for how these games control. Going back and playing Halo again was a real mind bending experience after being so used to playing these games a certain way.

But I’m getting away from the point, let’s get back into this list.

Here’s  #15, #14 and #13

Here are #12, #11 and #10

And here’s #9, #8 and #7

Wooderon’s favourite Video Games of 2019 – #7

There was a lot of drama surrounding the release of today’s game. Totally unnecessary drama too if you ask me. A whole bunch of swinging egos and misadventures of the people at the top of the development team that were worthy of a farcical comedy sitcom.

A situation that made me really worry about how this game would eventually turn out. It’s just one example of many this year where the big name at the top of the company is not the be all and end all of the process when making games. There are a huge number of hard working devs between them and the game that don’t have anything to do with the CEO’s insane antics. This is of course until this equally insane community needs someone to target for their misplaced anger.
