A while back, I wrote a piece talking about my concerns for Borderlands 3. It was a story I’d seen unfold so many times before; a follow-up to a highly regarded game that only comes after a long break. To many, the game has been a disappointment, if you listen to the same Podcasts I do anyway. To me though, Borderlands 3 was exactly what I wanted it to be: More Borderlands.
I unashamedly admit that Borderlands 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, it’s in the top ten at the very least. It was a perfect game for a perfect time for me, near endlessly replayable with an absolute ton of content even before you take the substantial DLC into account. So why has my previous excitement for Borderlands 3 cooled so much since the reveal a few months back?
Much to everyone’s surprise, Gearbox revealed that Borderlands 2, a seven year old game, was getting a new piece of story DLC during the Microsoft E3 Press Conference. Much to their own displeasure, it got leaked before event itself.
