Wooderon Anime of the Year 2018: #1

Thus we come to the close on my first ever top ten anime of the year list. I think it went well… Although it made me realise that I watched a lot less anime this year than I thought I did. Sure, I watched a wider variety of shows than I probably ever have done before. But compared to just how many shows are out there to watch, I only really scraped the surface. It’s a start I feel happy with though, I discovered some new stuff and am looking forward to see what I can introduce myself to in 2019.

Wooderon Anime of the Year 2018: #1

Before I get ahead of myself talking about brand new anime in 2019, there is still a matter of the number one entry on my 2018 list. This entry; it probably one of the farthest from new anime in my personal books. If anyone who has been keeping up with my blog in any capacity is hopping for a surprise here, you’re barking up the wrong tree. This is a predictable entry for me, and at a point I was going to be apologetic about it. But what’s the point in being apologist when it comes to an obvious winner?

For the final time, let’s sum up my entire top ten list for 2018:

#10: Goblin Slayer

#9: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

#8: The Ancient Magus’ Bride

#7: Golden Kamuy

#6: Attack on Titan

#5: Hinamatusri

#4: Megalo Box

#3: Lupin the Third: Part V

#2: My Hero Academia

Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #7

It’s Christmas Eve, by this point in the process I’d really hope that my entire list is written, wrapped and ready to go up while I sleep and recover from the busiest week in retailing. Historically though, I’d kill myself writing these and then always end up putting some portion of my best of year blogs late. We’ll see how things fair this year, because it’s so far so good.

Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #7

Today’s number seven entry is something of a throwback for me. A game I found myself looking at for weeks and weeks before eventually saying screw it and picking it up just a couple of weeks ago. Had I played it as soon as it came out, then maybe it would have been higher, but even just 20 hours in, I adore this game and really needed to include it on my list.

Before we get to that, here’s the list as it stands thus far:

#10: Dead Cells

#9: Into the Breach

#8: Dragon Ball FighterZ

A New Beginning – Dragon Ball Super: Chapter 42

I wasn’t going to talk about Dragon Ball again this soon after spending a full week talking about GT, but I just caught the latest chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga and felt compelled to say something about it. Especially considering it begins to delve into new story lines after the Broly movie. I don’t want to be in danger of purely being a Dragon Ball blogger, but hey, write about what you love.

A New Beginning - Dragon Ball Super: Chapter 42

Previously, I spoke about how I feel the manga’s version of the Tournament of Power story arc lacked the intensity, the drama or the pure hype of the anime, despite actually being a better told version of events from a storytelling perspective.
