My version of a review section, except generally nowhere near that structured. Sometimes I’ll just pick out a single talking point from a movie or game rather than a full review. It’s generally my reactionary take on recent media.
I had a whole bunch of worries going into Detective Pikachu. It seems kind of silly in hindsight, seeing as how this is a kid’s movie at the end of the day. Strangely, the things that did linger on my mind turned out to be some of the best parts of the movie.

We’ve met the villain, and he escapes with relative ease. I’m still wondering what kind of villain we’re going to get out of this guy. I’m seeing more of a misunderstood monster vibe from him than the child eater kind of antagonist, but maybe I’m just a sucker for a pretty face.

The first John Wick caught me completely off guard. It snuck up and grabbed me by the shoulders, violent shaking me and yelling at me to pay attention to it. It was understandable that I’d not notice it in a year where there were quite a few movies with <white dude name> as the title.
