Shonen is a staple part of any anime fan’s diet, whether you’re super invested in the genre or not. It’s impossible to avoid the larger than life characters, their larger than life adventures and all the pure hype and insane action that comes with these stories of nobodies becoming THEbodies.
But no matter how great the protagonist and their story, no great shonen has been anything without a great supporting cast. And more often than not, these casts: they’re biiiiiig.

This month has just flown by. It’s honestly been a really weird Christmas for me. The one nice constant though has been my best of the year list. And this particular year, I didn’t have much pain in picking my top ten anime list. This entry in particular was cemented at the very top as soon as I started drafting this top ten, with little chance of it being budged off. Anyone who has spent any amount of time following my blog this year has probably already guessed what it’s going to be.

I’ve been impressed by the visuals of Demon Slayer on repeated instances at this point, but for the season finale it really seemed like the studio wanted to go out with a bang. That, this is the longest stint of the show without any action in it, so we need to end with some kind of high octane thrill ride.
