This month has just flown by. It’s honestly been a really weird Christmas for me. The one nice constant though has been my best of the year list. And this particular year, I didn’t have much pain in picking my top ten anime list. This entry in particular was cemented at the very top as soon as I started drafting this top ten, with little chance of it being budged off. Anyone who has spent any amount of time following my blog this year has probably already guessed what it’s going to be.
I made a prediction about the direction I felt this show was going a few reviews back, then it went and totally defied my expectations by having last episode happen. Demon Slayer, it seems, wanted it both ways though, making Tanjiro the badass and also in need of rescuing. So my predictions ended up coming to fruition in the end anyway.
I am consistently in a state of awe of how fantastic the action sequences in Demon Slayer look. I know I run the risk of sounding like a broken record, but at this point I’m past caring. The buildup, the execution and weight behind the decisive moments of battle effect me at a core level.
