Best movies of 2017: #5 – #1

Final list for a while I think. Which is kind of sad because looking at my analytics from last year, the most popular thing on this blog by far is also the only list I’ve written on it outside of these “of the year” posts. It’s real clickbaity too, not that it was my intention when I wrote it. Oh well, It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever written so I can’t be too salty about it. It’s just just feel like a good structure for a post when you actually want to put a coherent thought forward. But then again, being a capable writer is irrelevant if you want to get paid for doing it on the internet for the most part.

Going forward with this part of the list I’ll probably get into spoilers in these entries. Don’t know if I mentioned that in the last one, probably important to know. But that’d be implied in a post like this surely.

Wooderon’s Best Movies of 2017: #10 – #6

I didn’t see anywhere near as many movies in 2017 as I did the year prior.I don’t know, maybe I spent so much time in a cinema in 2016 that I burned myself out on the experience a little. I still endeavour to go back and see the things I’ve missed out on, but there is only so much time and Dunkirk is, what, like a 70 hour movie? It feels like that anyway.

Because I always seem to want to do this to myself, I end up getting my game lists polished off and posted on time and never manage to finish my movie one. So I’m going to split this one into two halves this time to get them out in a slightly more timely manner. And in case you couldn’t tell I’m especially burned out on writing intros to lists and I’m just padding this out as much as I can so there’s a decent amount of text before the line break.

Here’s numbers 10 to 6: Continue reading “Wooderon’s Best Movies of 2017: #10 – #6”

Wooderon’s 3 most disappointing games of 2017

You saw this coming. As much as I sung the praises of 2017 as a year of great games, that doesn’t mean there isn’t still trash by the barrel full. As is standard fare for these annual lists I do at the end of every year, I top out a binge of positivity by complaining about something, three things to be precise. Just so you can start 2018 with a sour taste in your mouth. You’re welcome.

Without further waffle, here are the three games that disappointed me the most this year. Not to say they were necessarily bad games (although a couple of them kind of were). These are just the games I had the most hopes for, but ended up letting me down the most. Continue reading “Wooderon’s 3 most disappointing games of 2017”
