God Damn it Goku… I mean, I knew there was going to be one more twist in this tale before it was over. But I should be thrilled by it not exasperated. I get that being smart isn’t one of Goku’s defining character traits, but the fact that these characters keep making the same mistakes over and over again is pretty exhausting.

3 Episode Rule – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai

3 Episode Rule is a series in which I watch the first three episodes of a new anime and decide whether to stick with it or drop it based on those three episodes alone.

I tried to watch eight anime for the last series of 3 Episode Rule, although in the end I ran out of time and only managed to get to six. This season, I’m trying for eight again, only I’m changing my approach slightly and hope to manage to squeeze them all in. Even if they don’t end up making out in the most timely of manner. This third time I’m digging into a remake of a classic anime, to see if a lack of nostalgia for it can keep my attention in this packed couple of weeks.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisited – Part 26: Threepio through the looking glass

I’m kinda surprised, jumping into season 4, the series feels like it’s kind of regressed in some regard. These opening six episodes of the season seem to be going back to the tone and content of the earlier parts of the show. Albeit with much better art and animation. Being more of an anthology and less self serious about telling an ongoing story.

It’s not to say I’m disliking what I’m seeing, I just kind of assumed the series would continue getting darker and leaning into telling longer-form narrative as it aged. Although this season still has plenty to go to still get me all worked up.
