I’m all out of buffer posts now. Meaning that I’m going to to have start writing these the day of posting. Which, all things considered, isn’t too bad going on my part. Considering how many posts I committed myself to writing over the course of the month. It’s a good thing I’ve got some time off work now to catch up on life, the anime I’ve missed and all the blog posts I want to get written before I fall too far behind.
It seems like an incredibly long time since the reveal of Darth Maul still being alive. An entire season and a half in fact. I’d wonder if I’d have been chomping at the bit for this plot element to return had I watched this series as it was coming out. Truthfully, while writing about these episodes, I kind of forgot all about Maul and his brother Savage Opress.
It’s cool to see them back though, in no small part due to how much the series itself throws onto this event. They treat it like it’s a big deal.
Season three ended on such a big cliff-hanger, I’m kind of shocked it took us to the final four episodes of season four to actually return to that story thread. These first two episodes begin the slow and surprising redemption of Asajj Ventress, something I never knew I really wanted until it started happening.
I’ve said before, I love a good redemption story. And this story is as ripe for pushing those buttons as a good guy turn could ever be.
