Mob Psycho 100 Still turns out great after its sudden turn

In pretty recent memory, I spent a significant portion of white space writing about connections between people and how they strengthen us as people. Well, I’d like to make a classy transition between that and talking about the second season of Mob Psycho 100. But let’s be real: that’s what all anime is about.

From Dragon Ball Z to Naruto and My Hero Academia, all of the best Shonen shows focus one one major thing; the main character kicking ass using varying degrees of the power of friendship to do it. Never before though have I seen a show take it’s primary character’s desire for personal growth over a desire for their growth of power.

Kaguya-Sama is cute, frustrating and kinda Depressing, I love it

I’m actually way more of a big soppy romantic than I’d like to admit. Which is why, when I started watching Kaguya-Sama: Love is War as a goofy comedy featuring two of the most extra people you’ll ever see, I never thought it would grip me to the point where the ending almost had be blubbering like a baby.

And then it went and pulled the rug from under me, went on for another ten minutes and plopped me and all of the characters back to where they started. In essence, ripping my heart out  and throwing it around the room before hastily applying a few band aides and returning it with a red face and an apology.

Dragon Ball Super – Chapter 46 Review: Namek in Decline

A chapter that begins with Goku receiving an almost Vegeta-like beat down. That’s certainly refreshing. What isn’t refreshing is the Namekians getting their home ravaged by a space monster who is after their Dragon Balls. Frankly, I don’t know why they still have the things around, they seem far more trouble than they’re worth. Y’know with the near extinction of their race on multiple occasions.

The chapter begins by trundling down the incredibly telegraphed grooves in the road that have been indicating the direction of this story: Goku and Vegeta rushed to confront Moro half cocked, didn’t realise his powers and get beaten down soundly by him as a consequence.
