Wooderon’s Initial Impressions of Destiny: Forsaken

I’m feeling kind of low on both inspiration and motivation right now. I’ve got things going in the boring old real world, I’m also struggling to make this blog what I want it to be at the moment. And I don’t really know what to do about it. That’s my issue though. I had something else planned for today. But instead, I’m just going to spend some time writing, stream of consciousness style, when it comes to my initial feelings about the new Destiny expansion that came out this week.

My Thoughts on: Pocket City

Me playing a video game on my phone is a rarity, finding one I actually feel strongly enough to talk about on here is even rarer. It’s partially because Apple doesn’t make phones that have batteries that can realistically support video games. The other reason is because there is a culture and design ethos behind the platform that incentives insidious business strategy over making a game of any genuine quality.

My Thoughts on: Pocket City

Which isn’t to say there aren’t mobile games that can have redeemable qualities, it’s why I decided to talk about Pocket City, a nice little title that took me for two week whirl.

My Thoughts on: Dead Cells

It’s been a relatively sparse summer in terms of video games. After weeks of nothing of particular interest, suddenly we find ourselves drowning in games. All of which seem to fill the same niche. “Metroidvania”, “Roguelike-like” and “Procedurally Generated” are the common terms linking a great many number of them, but of them, only one has managed to stick out and actually capture my interest: Dead Cells.
