Forza Horizon is the best racing game for people who don’t care about cars

It occurs to me that I’ve been playing Forza Horizon 4 for a few weeks now and haven’t spoken about it on my blog at all. It’s unusual for me to enjoy a game like Forza Horizon so much seeing as how I’m really not a car person, nor have I ever really found myself playing very many racing games growing up, and yet something about Forza Horizon works for me.

The Horizon games take themselves much less seriously than other racing games, taking place in a world where a roaming car and racing festival travels around the world, consuming all local culture and destroying people’s homes and businesses for the sake of millennials smashing their indestructible cars around the landscape.

It’s not a great time to be playing Tank in Overwatch

With the release of Destiny: Forsaken and Forza Horizon 4 I had some time away from Overwatch. That being said, I didn’t stray too far away from the community, because I need some venomous negativity in my life to help me sleep at night.

Hot off the back of the latest Torborn rework, one of the more common verbal tantrums I saw detailed that with, yet one more, DPS getting a boost, tanks are becoming even less appealing to play than ever before. The thing that shocked me the most about this, I found myself agreeing.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has everyone fooled

There comes a time with any long running franchise when it needs to refresh itself, to enter a cocoon of hiatus and be reborn as something new, but also still kind of the same. Last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins was the strained, metaphorical butterfly in this particular case for Ubisoft.

It was a game from a series that had ploughed itself deeply into the ground, thanks to an annual release schedule that did little to majorly change the experience over time. I was so burned out on Assassin’s Creed that I was pretty much done with the series after ACIII, a brief flirtation with Black Flag notwithstanding.
