Demon Slayer – Episode 23: Hashira Meeting – Time for Recuperation

Aside from often looking fantastic (far better than the art in the Manga in fact), I don’t always notice how beautiful some of the music and sound design in Demon Slayer is. It seems determined to remind me in this episode as Nezuko turns her back on the taunting of the psychotic wind pillar’s taunting. Thank God.

Fire Force – Episode 9: The Spreading Malice – My issue with Fan Service

I am having a number of mixed feelings when it comes to this show. Feelings that are mostly centred on a single thing I can’t help but get hung up on when watching a show like this. I run the risk of having a pretty unpopular opinion here, but I’m just going to come out and say it: I just don’t like fan service in anime.

Dr. Stone – The Trouble with writing a show around smart character

Within a medium where so many shows focus on character’s grit and physical abilities getting them through situations, it’s difficult to plot a purely cerebral character in to that same environment. When your lead’s main power is critical thinking, showing that off while keeping it believable is strangely more difficult than with someone who can shoot jet engines out of their heels.
