Dragon Ball GT Rewatch Week 2: The Baby Saga – Day 1: Story Arc Structure

Last November, I had the bright idea to go back and rewatch Dragon Ball GT. Dragon Ball Super: Broly was on the cusp of release and it seemed like a new series of Super would shortly follow that. So I was all revved up to go back and revisit a series I’d never actually watched properly.

As you might have guessed from the extended gap in time between now and last November when I wrote about the Black Star Dragon Balls Saga; this turned out to be a bit of a slog than I’d expected.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes is screwing up my headcanon – Episode 5 Review

Did this show just imply that Super Saiyan 4 was a stronger transformation than Super Saiyan God and Blue? I’m sorry, but I feel like this is doing all it can to just rub me the wrong way. It’s made all the worse by the fact that this was one of the more interesting episodes on a conceptual level.

This episode starts with a total disregard to the line uttered by Cumber at the ending of the previous part, having recognised something about Goku’s Super Saiyan God transformation. Now Cumber and Goku are battling it out. Albeit briefly before Goku gets beaten into the ground pretty quickly.

My Thoughts on: Super Dragon Ball Heroes Episodes 1 & 2

For a long time, as a western Dragon Ball fan, I’d see these videos pop on on Youtube. There was often little to no context to them. They seemed like these wondrous pieces of fan fiction turned into real art and animation for Dragon Ball. Eventually, down the line I realised they were trailers for a Japanese arcade game that was skyrocketing in popularity: Dragon Ball Heroes.

The card based video game had these little trailers associated with them, ones that seemed to become more and more outlandish and fantastical from a fan’s point of view. It was like looking at a young fan’s toybox being turned into well animated snippets. So, when the announcement that Dragon Ball Heroes was getting an actual promotional anime, everyone’s interest was piqued, mine included.
