Did this show just imply that Super Saiyan 4 was a stronger transformation than Super Saiyan God and Blue? I’m sorry, but I feel like this is doing all it can to just rub me the wrong way. It’s made all the worse by the fact that this was one of the more interesting episodes on a conceptual level.
This episode starts with a total disregard to the line uttered by Cumber at the ending of the previous part, having recognised something about Goku’s Super Saiyan God transformation. Now Cumber and Goku are battling it out. Albeit briefly before Goku gets beaten into the ground pretty quickly.
Returning to save him at the last minute is Time Patrol/Xeno Goku, accompanied by his equivalent Vegeta, both in Super Saiyan 4 forms.
While this is going on, Fu is pitching a fit because in the minute and a half he was away from his little private theatre to the action, someone has found it and completely wrecked it all.
Back at the fight, Xeno Vegeta and Goku fuse using Portara into Super Saiyan 4 Vegito, making his debut appearance outside of fan fiction. In response, Cumber turns Super Saiyan and the two battle, resulting in something we’ve not seen up until this point. Cumber being overpowered.
Here is the point where I start to grumble to myself.
I am not anti-GT, in fact I am watching the series back right now. But I’m certain that Super Saiyan Blue is more powerful than 4, especially with a Kaioken being used on top of this. I’m not going to start talking through my thought process here or anything, and just chock it up to the series making their original character concept save the day over the established one.
Vegito manages to blast Cumber off into the sky with a regular old Kamehameha (which is kind of disappointing in itself), although causing him to defuse from the effort. As this happens, Fu shows up and accuses the Time Patrol of destroying his lab and prepares to fight.

All the while, Cooler continues to just stand around and watch. Seriously, is he planning on contributing to this fight at all.
With two Gokus and Vegeatas in play now, there is potential for all manner of crazy things to happen. Maybe the fabled fusion of Vegtio and Gogeta (Gogeto). But no, the tease for the next episode already uses the words Ultra Instinct.
It was fun seeing a Super Saiyan 4 Vegito, but, once again, the show feels like it doesn’t want to really play with its own concept. The fact that Vegito 4 was in this episode was no secret thanks to the Super Dragon Ball Heroes game teaser that revealed him after the previous episode. As there is already footage of Ultra Instinct Goku fighting Cumber out on Youtube.
I had hoped that the show would have some original concepts away from the game ads, so it would have something all its own, but unfortunately, the show seems to simply “flesh out” the latest ad with the minimal effort possible.
So, as per usual, It’s a seven minutes you probably shouldn’t spend watching this, but like me will watch anyway.
