Wooderon Games of the Year 2017: #9

This year, there were actually a few games that didn’t make it onto my list that I feel kind of bummed I didn’t get a chance to talk about. I could have squeezed this game and Prey off to talk about Battle Chef Brigade or Puyo Puyo Tetris, but I would have just come off as a right stuck up jackass if my GOTY list consisted of a ton of Indie games. I mean, it would have been dishonest… yeah.

At least I didn’t have the same problem I had last year where I was struggling to cobble ten games together worth talking about at all. Don’t get me wrong, I liked XCOM 2 just fine, but I couldn’t get passionate about it. Unless you’re talking pissed off as a type of passion.

Enough Waffle though, I’m going to get on with the list. Like previous years I’ll link the previous numbers in my list before teasing you with a link to see what I gave this entry.

Battlefront II is almost good old EU

When It was announced to the world that Disney was making a high profile business acquisition of the Star Wars franchise, and would be making more movies to follow on Return of the Jedi, with a spin-off movie every other year, meaning we’d be getting a new Star Wars movie every year until the end of time. Well, needless to say, people were excited. I actually experenced hype overload and started to resent the franchise. But that’s because I’m a giant petty child.

Wooderon Top Ten Movies of 2016

This is a little later than I intended, but I suppose I might have burned myself a little by making, like, 12 posts in a row over Christmas. But anyway, I felt like I saw enough movie this year that I could give a a relatively decent movie of the year list. That being said, you’ll see a very common theme here amongst the types of movies I saw.

But you know what they say about simple minds and simple tastes. There were still a lot of movie I didn’t see this year, not only that there were critically acclaimed movies that I simply didn’t enjoy too much. Spoiling the list a little, The Revenant isn’t going to be on here. While I thought the movie was well made, I just wasn’t for me. I’m no critic, I’m not going to break down movies based on their artistic merit. All I’m going to list here are the movies I enjoyed the most throughout the year.
