This is a little later than I intended, but I suppose I might have burned myself a little by making, like, 12 posts in a row over Christmas. But anyway, I felt like I saw enough movie this year that I could give a a relatively decent movie of the year list. That being said, you’ll see a very common theme here amongst the types of movies I saw.
But you know what they say about simple minds and simple tastes. There were still a lot of movie I didn’t see this year, not only that there were critically acclaimed movies that I simply didn’t enjoy too much. Spoiling the list a little, The Revenant isn’t going to be on here. While I thought the movie was well made, I just wasn’t for me. I’m no critic, I’m not going to break down movies based on their artistic merit. All I’m going to list here are the movies I enjoyed the most throughout the year. A brutal slog through the old west, not really that enjoyable… Continue reading “Wooderon Top Ten Movies of 2016”
I didn’t do this last year, which has thrown me out of whack slightly because not all gaming devices have the pure, precise record keeping of the PC or any given Nintendo console. It’s like Microsoft and Sony didn’t want you to know how much time you’ve blown playing games throughout the year. I dunno. I didn’t play my PS4 anywhere near enough to have a game qualify for this list anyway so it’s a moot point I suppose. I also meant to write a top ten movies of 2016, but that got put on the back burner. At least for a few days.
So, without any further ado. Here are my top ten most played games in ascending order… you might see a common theme… Continue reading “Games played by volume: 2016”
Like last year, I need to end a 10 day series of celebration by complaining about something. However good the games of 2016 were, there were still some big old stinkers. but that’s not what I’m going to talk about in this post. I’m not talking about bad games, well I am, but I’m specifically going to list the three games that disappointed me this most this year. Titles that I had genuine high hopes for, and had them dashed soundly once I picked them up. Continue reading “Wooderon Most Disappointing Games of 2016”
I really, really like the top three game on my list this year and funnily enough, none of them were games I was hotly anticipating. In fact, all of them were a nice surprise for me. Even Pokemon weirdly enough. There were a lot of games that took me by surprise this year some new and some older. I discovered Rocket League this year and put a significant amount of time into it in the summer months. Superhot was amazing and only missed out on my top ten by a hair. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 has shaken off the honeymoon feel of the original game, but still managed to make a sequel that improved on the original in a lot of important ways.
Oh and I toyed with putting Skyrim: Special Edition on here, oh how I did. But after a final recap of my top then I’m going to talk about my favourite game of 2016:
#10: Gears of War 4
#9: XCOM 2
#8: Forza Horizon 3
#7: Titanfall 2
#6: Ratchet & Clank
#3: Pokemon Sun (/Moon)
#2: DOOM Continue reading “Wooderon Games of the Year 2016: #1”
