Wooderon’s Favourite Video Games of 2020 – #1

Like with every year I do this list, there is some part of me that really can’t decide which game I’m going to put at the top of my list. Like last year, I was torn between two games that were a bubbling simmer over the course of the months or a short, brilliantly bright flash when it first game out.

On both occasions, I’ve opted to go for the bright flash of a game. My logic being that if I finish a game and then it’s still on my mind so many months later, despite not touching it since, the surely it’s going to be one that I need to celebrate a little bit more than the game I’ve been picking up here and there throughout the year.

You can disagree with me if you’d like, but I’m not sure if you can really argue that this game isn’t a worthy contender for any game of the year list no matter who you are.

Wooderon’s Favourite Anime of 2020 – #1

I’ve watched a lot of anime this year. Maybe to the detriment of other aspects of my life. I know I sure watched a lot less western television as a result, and maybe played fewer video games too. While it hasn’t been the most amazing year for anime, there have still been at least ten shows this year that I loved enough to talk about them on this list.

And for anyone that’s been keeping up with my blog throughout the year, I have to wonder how much this top pick will come as a surprise to them or not.

Jujutsu Kaisen – Episode 12 Review: To you, Someday

This episode begins by jumping into a fight between Itadori and Junpei. Right away they’re going at one another, which surprised me. I’m so used to there being the dramatic monologue before the fight that us jumping right into this one seemed a refreshing change of pace.

Junpei is full of anger and pain, all built up over time and finally bubbling over with the death of his mother. The fight is cool, and one Itadori seems to have an advantage in right away. Junpei took the fast track to attaining his powers, through the help of Mahitoi, giving better control almost right away. Although that doesn’t seem to compare to old fashioned hard work.
