Is Anthem Bioware’s last chance?

As someone who values narrative and a depth of world building in their video games, I hold Bioware in high regard. Their particular brand of video game scratches an itch that not many other developers can manage, combining third person action gameplay with a well realised story and intricate world building. And on a console of all things.

Like many unique and creative developers though, their ideas would sometimes outpace their financial ability to pull them off. Enter EA. The behemoth of a publisher acquired Bioware in 2007, and for a while things were looking up for the Canadian Developer and their fans. Cut to over 10 years later, and things aren’t so bright for Bioware. They find themselves in a position where their next game could also be their last.

A Bad Overwatch Player’s thoughts on Hammond (A.K.A. Wrecking Ball)

I am still one of those people playing Overwatch. It’s my safety net game, for those times when I don’t feel like playing anything else in my extensive video game collection and just want to play a bright, well-made and colourful nightmare situation.

It’s been a few weeks now since Blizzard introduced the game’s latest hero; Wrecking Ball. A hero that had been teased for a long time under the name Hammond. A name that, much to Blizzard’s dismay, the fan base seem to prefer. Myself included. Now that he’s showing up in competitive games and I feel the need to give my half baked opinion on him.

Mid-Week Review: Attack on Titan – Episode 39: “Pain”

I don’t think I was ever expecting this show to go in this direction. That first season blew everyone away with its incredible opening, its fantastically animated action sequences and its relentlessly bleak premise. Then it took approximately one thousand years for the second season to come out and everyone forgot about it. We’re in the third season now, and the frequent character deaths and aerial action have been replaced with political intrigue and government conspiracy.
