E3 Week: My Highlights from the Sony Press Conference

Sony’s event was all over the place. Rather than a single media briefing on a stage, it felt like they were flitting between locations and filling time to get their next presentation ready by using a panel of talking heads. Going into this one, Sony had said they would focus on the four big “pillar exclusives” that would be coming out while also talking about some other games along the way.

While I might primarily play my games on Xbox, Sony definitely have the stronger catalogue of games. I might only own a PS4 for their exclusives, but at this point, owning the console for two or three incredibly good games a year is well worth it based on the quality they are of. E3 Week: My Highlights from the Ubisoft Press Conference

I feel like a lot the developers and publishers who exhibit at E3 kind of want to get out of this game. The “peddling their wares on a stage to the masses” game specifically. Nintendo got out a few years ago, as have Square Enix who I just got finished talking about. Ubisoft though. Oh, they want to keep this going strong and put on a show-ass-show.

E3 Week: My Reactions to the Square Enix Live Stream

I didn’t know what to expect going into this one. I had two predictions; one of which was that a significant portions would be taken up by Kingdom Hearts III, the other was that Final Fantasy VII was going to get delayed for another couple years. I was wrong on both counts in the end. They didn’t mention the FF remake at all.

Square Enix’s press conference wasn’t a press conference at all. Instead, they decided to go down the Nintendo route and pre-record the whole thing before peacing out. I was kind of thankful for that to be honest. that meant this whole thing could be reduced down a snappy 30 minutes, and we didn’t have to take up precious seconds on awkward almost-applause. I’m probably showing my hand slightly here, but I’m not a massive fan of Square’s games. But I’m ready to be wrong at any given moment…
