The Counterproductive Karma Bar of Red Dead Redemption 2

Like most of the known world, I am playing Red Dead Redemption 2. I feel like I’m still pretty early despite investing a significant number of hours into the game already. Overall, I’m enjoying it. While it’s not a game without flaws, the Rockstar formula makes for a very engaging and unique experience in video games.

One of the choices Rockstar made within the game is one I keep bumping up against, much to my own chagrin, it’s the karma system. Dubbed as Honour within this game. It feels really out of place, not only that, it feels dated.

Forza Horizon is the best racing game for people who don’t care about cars

It occurs to me that I’ve been playing Forza Horizon 4 for a few weeks now and haven’t spoken about it on my blog at all. It’s unusual for me to enjoy a game like Forza Horizon so much seeing as how I’m really not a car person, nor have I ever really found myself playing very many racing games growing up, and yet something about Forza Horizon works for me.

The Horizon games take themselves much less seriously than other racing games, taking place in a world where a roaming car and racing festival travels around the world, consuming all local culture and destroying people’s homes and businesses for the sake of millennials smashing their indestructible cars around the landscape.

The Cancelation of Netflix’s Iron Fist and Luke Cage

Almost immediately after I wrote a piece speaking on how much I enjoyed the new series of Iron Fist, Netflix announced that they were cancelling the show, much to my and many other fan’s chagrin. Then to go and cancel Luke Cage too though, it feels like there is something more going on here than the cancellation of a show because of poor ratings.

There is an excess of Super hero media out in the right now, that’s stating the obvious of course. There is a lot more stuff out there than even the most devout fans could possibly want to keep up with. With the floodgates opened, the inevitable bad shows are going to be mixed in with the quality ones.
