A couple of weeks ago, I read a post about the need for reliability in protagonists from A K of sonatano1.wordpress.com (Everything is bad for you), using Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro as a talking point. And it got me into thinking about how we endeavour to relate to characters in our media, no matter how unrelatable they might initially seem.

What Pokemon could learn from Digimon World: Next Order
Something has broken in my brain. A combination of me watching the rebooted series of Digimon Adventure and rediscovering what made me love the Pokemon games so much have become inexorably linked. The consequence of which saw me dropping all of the other, newer games I’d been playing and start a new game of the PS4 game from a few years ago: Digimon World: Next Order.
Next Order is a direct sequel to the 1999 Digimon World on the first Playstation; one of my favourite games for the platform. Upon playing these games back to back I feel like are a few things the Pokemon franchise might be able to learn from Digimon World.

Ubisoft: Iteration to Death
Ubisoft has gone from being a publisher and developer I was excited and eager about, into one I feel a sense of utter apathy for. Their games used to be amongst the biggest most exciting releases in a given year for me. And while Ubisoft games certainly are still amongst the most high profile of any released in a given year, as a video game fan I can’t help but feel this lack of enthusiasm for anything they’ve put out in the last few years.
And they’re a company that puts out a lot…
