MCU Rewatch: Iron Man 3 is a forgotten movie with a darker tone

This is part of an going series in which I go back and watch all of the Marvel movies again after realising I’ve only seen most of them once. The links to the entire series can be found here.

The movie after an Avengers always feels like a time to decompress. To sit back, take a breather and experience something a little less intense. Back in 2013, Marvel were still in the process of figuring this out. Instead of a fun little romp, we got an Iron Man movie that creeps into into a story having a darker tone and dealing with subject matter that the MCU doesn’t delve into all that often.

Really, How does Giorno’s Stand Work?

We’re getting towards the end of the 5th part of Jojo’s Bizarre adventure, and for the life of me I still don’t think I have a real grasp of what it is Giorno Giovanna’s stand actually does.

I’ve always been drawn to superpowers and special abilities in fiction, as most nerds have. Superheroes, wizards and Jedi. These extraordinary powers create limitless opportunity for unique storytelling. Not just that though, it’s seeing how the writers can continue to write around these imposed abilities with their limitations and come up with creative ways to have them evolve and grow.
