New Seasons, New Hopes. CW’s Arrow and Flash

Superheroes are on television as much as they are in the cinema now, with new seasons of shows based on both Marvel and DC properties right around the corner. There are a lot of hopes and expectations on them to keep up the momentum of the previous series (The Flash, Agents of Shield) or to make up for past mistakes. (Arrow.)

Gears of War: Victim of its own success

So the remake of Gears of War is out on the Xbox One this week. And I know what you’re wondering; Am I going to rip on it for being an unnecessary remake, that I have some long standing dislike of Gears of War or some other negative or passive aggressive nonsense about the series. Well I’m not going to do anything like that. I like Gears of War in fact, back in the day I spent a significant amount of hours playing it online. So does that mean I’m going to go out and buy this remake? Hell no I’m not.

Sonic the Hedgehog hasn’t changed, we’ve changed

Sonic the Hedgehog means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. To some he is a punchline, an opportunity to laugh at those who still seem desperately cling to a ship in the midst of being sunk, repeatedly. To others he is a constant source of frustration, a tease who seems so close to redeeming himself only to make them feel the fool once again. Then there are those that see Sonic as a terrible game series, one that was never really as good as everyone seemed to think it was.
