I’m back in (blogging) business

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks for me, during which I’m amazed I even managed to update as often as I did. But after close to a year of talking about it and waiting, then waiting some more and then even more waiting, I have finally moved into my first home.

I’ve been here a couple of weeks now, but my access to the basic amenities of my online focused life have been limited at best. Only now, within the last hour of writing this do I feel like I’m regaining some semblance of normalcy within my approximation of adult life.

Season 2 of One Punch Man already feels like a product of begrudging obligation

It’s kind of bittersweet. The first series of One Punch Man was go damn good. From it’s ridiculous premise, to it’s atypical hero to its mesmerising animation right to it’s absolute banger of an opening song which still finds its way into my rotation now. After literal years of waiting for a season 2 to drop… why you be dis way?

Coming right off the back of a phenomenal second season of Mob Psycho 100, it’s even more jarring to see the second season of the anime that got the writer of both properties into being a household name (Well, in my household at the very least) just nosedive.

Captain Marvel – A Perfect Example of the Current MCU

I kind of purposely avoided this topic while it was hot, it felt like there were just too many red hot takes when it came to Captain Marvel. Not only that, but it felt like there were too many people who’d spring loaded themselves to bite the head off anyone who would try and direct some genuine criticism at the movie.

As a result, my review of the movie shortly after seeing it was very levelled. You could call that cowardly if you wanted. I call it me not wanting the hassle. Because being really honest, Captain Marvel is a perfect example of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe; and that is really the biggest problem I have with it.
