Shantae and the Seven Sirens sure is another Shantae game

There are certain video games that feel familiar, ones that coming back to is like putting on a well worn shoe. While Shantae and the Seven Sirens is only the fifth game in the series, and the third one to come out on home consoles, there is something about its approach, its gameplay that makes it feel like a game you’ve already played a hundred times before.

Whether that’s a good thing or not is completely up to your own interpretation.

3 Episode Rule – In/Spectre

This was a last minute addition to this season’s run order for me. I ended up watching all three episodes back to back. Which I’m not sure if wisest course of action, given I have much less time to digest the series as I would watching it week to week. Let’s call this an experiment then, because I have some mixed feeling about In/Spectre.

Control is a love letter to both conspiracy culture and Remedy themselves

I’m not entirely sure why I have such a reverence for Remedy Entertainment. I don’t have any strong nostalgic connection to Max Payne, Quantum Break was a big old mess and I feel like I probably enjoyed Alan Wake a lot more than most people did. It’s difficult to argue with the fact, though, that Control is probably the best video game to come out of the studio thus far.
