Little Nightmares is Great

Little Nightmares is one of those game I probably would have ignored nine times out of ten. An indie game that, at a glance doesn’t look all too different than all of the other puzzle platforms that come out every month.

What drew me into this game though was my visit to EGX last year. The booth for Little Nightmares was one of the most striking of the entire show floor. Recreating areas of the game and having people in weird costumes parading about. It left a a mark in my brain that peaked my interest every time more information on the game bubbled to the surface. My Thoughts on: Mass Effect Andromeda

I get the feeling that at this point, everything that can be said about Mass Effect Andromeda has been pretty well covered by the internet at large. Ending controversy aside, the original Mass Effect Trilogy was one of my favourite gaming experiences, like ever. So to wait for so long for Mass Effect Andromeda and for it to turn out like this. It’s a real shame. To note, this piece is going to be spoiler free, so don’t worry about ploughing through.

It almost goes without saying, but I’ll point it out anyway. Mass Effect Andromeda is a bit of a let down. Not only is it a let down for the returning fans of the old games, but it doesn’t really do a whole lot for the newcomers to the series either, especially with other games of the same kind out there right now. We’re not short of really good sprawling open world games by any means right now. And yet I forced myself through over 60 hours of this game just to see the finish. So you better believe I have some thoughts.

Revisiting the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game

Back when I was a kid I was obsessed with any and all kinds of collectable card games I could get my hands on; Pokemon Cards, Magic: The Gathering, Digimon Cards, Harry Potter cards (For the hot five minutes that they were a thing, I had a terrible Severus Snape deck.) But the one that captured my imagination the most was the Yu-Gi-Oh competitive card game.

I was a nightmare for going out and blowing money on booster packs and even buying individual cards online. I got my Buster Blader and Dark Paladin that way, still no regrets. This was in no small part thanks to the anime that ran alongside and accompanied my obsession with the card game. I followed it all throughout the original run and even enjoyed GX until 4Kids decided to stop dubbing it half way through the third season.
