Control is a love letter to both conspiracy culture and Remedy themselves

I’m not entirely sure why I have such a reverence for Remedy Entertainment. I don’t have any strong nostalgic connection to Max Payne, Quantum Break was a big old mess and I feel like I probably enjoyed Alan Wake a lot more than most people did. It’s difficult to argue with the fact, though, that Control is probably the best video game to come out of the studio thus far.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses Review – An Exercise in Obsession

I’ve already expressed my feelings about the contradictory aspects of this game and how my admiration for it stopped me from challenging myself around it. Ultimately though, it was my feelings of wanting to see this game out that led to an experience of duality in more than one aspect of the game. Which makes sense considering the nature of the story.

The difficult contradiction to playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses

For a game I had zero interest in during the years leading up to its release, I now find myself utterly obsessed with the latest entry in the Fire Emblem series on the Nintendo Switch. But the more I play it, the more I have come to realise that there are two opposing aspects to the game struggle to work in tandem with one another.
