My version of a review section, except generally nowhere near that structured. Sometimes I’ll just pick out a single talking point from a movie or game rather than a full review. It’s generally my reactionary take on recent media.

My thoughts on Civil War’s Zemo

I saw Captain America: Civil War last week and had a good amount of time to digest the movie before it came out in the US. Thus flooding the internet with so many different opinions and reviews about it. Just getting it aside, I thought it was great, one of the best movies to come out of the series and a much better Avengers 2 than Ultron was.

There are, however, people who aren’t so hot on the movie. I’m not going to say anyone who didn’t enjoy the movie is wrong, because opinions and yadda yadda. However, one of the things I have seen mentioned I take exception with is people calling Zemo “just another bad Marvel movie villain.” Zemo isn’t in the movie a whole lot, no. But I think lumping him in the same camp as some other underwhelming Marvel villains is selling him short thrift, and I’m going to go into why.

Thoughts on: Daredevil, Season 2

The Netflix produced Marvel series have fast become a highlight of the superhero yearly calendar for me. Both the first season of Daredevil and Jessica Jones knocked all other competition out of the park in terms of their story, tone and production quality. It was a given that I was itching to see season two of Daredevil as soon as I possibly could.

I wasn’t disappointed either. While a much less focused series than the first, the story is spread out amongst three primary characters in Daredevil, The Punisher and Elektra. This has the benefit of adding two new fantastic interpretations of known Marvel characters to the series. It’s not without flaws though, as the final few episodes of the series lack a solid goal or antagonist to rally against, especially considering the strength of the finales of the previous two Netflix series.

Digimon: Cyber Sleuth took a week of my life

I haven’t updated in a while. Normally, this would be something I would quietly ignore as I started writing and updating on here again. But this time my reason for lack of updating wasn’t a matter of apathy nor a lack of ideas for things to write. No, of the past week and a half my entire waking life has been consumed by Digimon: Cyber Sleuth; quite possibly the worst game I’ve not been able to stop playing.

Cyber Sleuth is apparently the latest in a long line of Digimon games of the same vein, inventing a new, but familiar, world which clashes the real and digital world’s together. Cyber Sleuth has a lot of things going for it at first glance, the premise is pretty intriguing, taking place in a world where the internet has become a physical space people upload their consciousness into.
