3 Episode Rule – Digimon Ghost Game

3 Episode Rule is a series in which I watch the first three episodes of a new anime and decide whether to stick with it or drop it based on those three episodes alone.

I haven’t watched a new (original) Digimon series since I was a kid. I was kind of surprised to see this one pop up on Livechart.me, especially because I’ve seen literally nobody else talking about it. Normally, you might think this was a sure sign that the series isn’t really worth investing the time in. And while that was my initial thought with Digimon Ghost Game: something of a curiosity that might get me a blog post, I’ve actually found there to be something a little more to this one.

Demon Slayer: Season 2 – Episode 3: Should have Been

There was a promise leading into this arc that the retelling of the events of the movie would be altered at least somewhat for the broadcast anime. I am getting the impression that almost all of that new footage was exclusively used for the first episode. Because everything I’ve seen over these two episodes feels like it has been lifted entirely from the movie. Not that I’m upset about that or anything.

Just makes me glad I didn’t go back and watch the movie a second time when it dropped onto streaming services.

3 Episode Rule – Platinum End

3 Episode Rule is a series in which I watch the first three episodes of a new anime and decide whether to stick with it or drop it based on those three episodes alone.

One of the more hotly anticipated shows of the season; Platinum End is based on the manga written by Tsugumi Ohba; the writer of Death Note. So it goes without saying that the anime fandom would be excited to see his most recent work get an adaptation. All cards on the table though: I’ve never seen Death Note. In fact, I hardly know anything about it aside from the fact that Willem Dafoe was in a bad movie based on it… Oops, we’re not supposed to be talking about Death Note are we.
