I’m most assuredly not the first person to write about this. And I can already imagine there are people looking at this title and tearing their hair out at the very idea of me making this post on Halloween and not on Christmas. But that’s the whole point of this post right? To try and figure out what category this movie falls into. And I’m posting it now because my Christmas schedule is always pretty packed between work and my ‘best of year’ series. And hey, what’s wrong with doing something unconventional?

3 Episode Rule – The Day I Became a God
3 Episode Rule is a series in which I watch the first three episodes of a new anime and decide whether to stick with it or drop it based on those three episodes alone.
I think this might be my last entry in 2020’s 3 episode rule series. I’ll say it’s a marked improvement from last season where I had three shows I meant to watch but but ended up running out of time for, this time I’ve only dodged out on the one. Maybe it’s got something to do with the quality of the shows I’ve had to go on.

Monster Hunter Rise looks like a blend of old and new and I am excited
A few weeks ago, the inevitable happened and Capcom announced the next entry in their hugely popular Monster Hunter series. While I was already a massive fan of the franchise, this being the first new Monster Hunter game since the series reinvented itself with World is big news. World managed to finally break through to that mainstream western market and finally get non insane people playing the franchise.
Right away, Monster Hunter Rise looks like it might be a combination of the best aspects of the both World and the old style Monster Hunter games of the past. And I’m super excited for it.
