Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #6

Happy Christmas. Y’know I am actually glad I have this huge blogging task to keep me busy throughout most of December. Otherwise, between work and all of the family get togethers I would really struggle to find time or inspiration for anything to write about. Having some good video games to talk about is something I always enjoy, even if it isn’t the content that gets me the most views. But hey, do I seem like the kind of guy who has the charisma to be a Twitch streamer?

Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #6

The number six spot goes to a game in a genre that I, otherwise, have little to no interest in. I am pretty open minded when it comes to video games, but certain genres, sport games for example, always feel like games that get old fairly quickly. This game is one that manages to break away from the dogged annual release schedule and seems fresh despite getting one, or an approximation of it, released every year.

Before you die of suspense, I’ll link all the previous entries as per usual:

#10: Dead Cells

#9: Into the Breach

#8: Dragon Ball FighterZ

#7: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Wooderon Anime of the Year 2018: #7

Not to spoil things too much, but this is another anime that is still ongoing as I write this. The deeper I get into this list, the more I feel like I should be less concerned with years of release and when things ended. Maybe I should just look at what I watched and enjoyed over the course of the year. Again, any of the more veteran anime bloggers out there want to throw some ideas my way, feel free.

Wooderon Anime of the Year 2018: #7

In this year of getting into watching Anime in a way that I never really have done before, I’ve come to realise that I have a pretty pretty strong appreciation for the ridiculous and the absurd. And nothing does this brand of over the top silly quite like anime does. This number seven entry in particular has kept me coming back mostly thanks to how weird it is, and the fact that it manages to top its own weirdness over and over on a pretty consistent basis. But then again, that could apply to a good number of the shows I’ve watched this year.

Here’s the list as it stands thus far:

#10: Goblin Slayer

#9: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

#8: The Ancient Magus’ Bride

Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #7

It’s Christmas Eve, by this point in the process I’d really hope that my entire list is written, wrapped and ready to go up while I sleep and recover from the busiest week in retailing. Historically though, I’d kill myself writing these and then always end up putting some portion of my best of year blogs late. We’ll see how things fair this year, because it’s so far so good.

Wooderon Games of the Year 2018: #7

Today’s number seven entry is something of a throwback for me. A game I found myself looking at for weeks and weeks before eventually saying screw it and picking it up just a couple of weeks ago. Had I played it as soon as it came out, then maybe it would have been higher, but even just 20 hours in, I adore this game and really needed to include it on my list.

Before we get to that, here’s the list as it stands thus far:

#10: Dead Cells

#9: Into the Breach

#8: Dragon Ball FighterZ
