It’s a minor shock to my system every time I remember there is a Borderlands movie being made. And Cate Blanchett is in it?! It’s nuts. Something that lines up pretty nicely with the fact that I have been thinking about Borderlands a lot lately, as I am prone to do at least once a year. This time spurred on by the fact that I am playing through Borderlands 3 again with a friend.

The Sonic The Hedgehog movie is a kid’s movie first and a Sonic movie second
I’m probably more surprised than anyone that I actually went to see the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Having very loudly dusted my hands of the entire franchise more than once, but low and behold, I found myself with a day off and trying to decide whether to go and see Birds of Prey, 1917 and one other movie. So of course I got to see this damned one.

Rampage is the best kind of stupid movie
I feel like there is this unspoken pact between all film reviewers that its not okay to enjoy junk food. It’s understandable though, Rampage is a very flawed movie if you’re looking at it through a purely critical lens. Rife with nit picks and hardly a plot to be seen, it’s exactly the kind of movie that I sometimes relish the opportunity to just leave my brain at the door, and enjoy the ride as much as the people involved with it obviously are.
