Wooderon Games of the year 2017: #10

2017, where the hell did that year go right. It might be because I spend most of it in front of a television playing some video games. Oh yes, as this year: two thousand and seventeen comes to an end I am obligated to make ten posts over ten days listing the ten games I enjoyed the most/thought were the best games to come out over that twelve month period.

Y’know, the actual grading system behind these lists has always been a bit nebulous. I just list all of the games I’ve played in a year, which seems to get smaller and smaller each time I do this, and just hold them up against one another. I squint my eye and ask myself, did I like this game more than this game? Then bam, I have a list.

Being serious though, I don’t tend to get super critical when it comes to this list these days. I just look at what I had the most fun with and if it’s a game I’d go back to. And in the end, this being an entertainment based media, I think that’s a good excuse as any for just grinding these out. So let’s get cracking. Wooderon Top Ten Movies of 2016

This is a little later than I intended, but I suppose I might have burned myself a little by making, like, 12 posts in a row over Christmas. But anyway, I felt like I saw enough movie this year that I could give a a relatively decent movie of the year list. That being said, you’ll see a very common theme here amongst the types of movies I saw.

But you know what they say about simple minds and simple tastes. There were still a lot of movie I didn’t see this year, not only that there were critically acclaimed movies that I simply didn’t enjoy too much. Spoiling the list a little, The Revenant isn’t going to be on here. While I thought the movie was well made, I just wasn’t for me. I’m no critic, I’m not going to break down movies based on their artistic merit. All I’m going to list here are the movies I enjoyed the most throughout the year. Games played by volume: 2016

I didn’t do this last year, which has thrown me out of whack slightly because not all gaming devices have the pure, precise record keeping of the PC or any given Nintendo console. It’s like Microsoft and Sony didn’t want you to know how much time you’ve blown playing games throughout the year. I dunno. I didn’t play my PS4 anywhere near enough to have a game qualify for this list anyway so it’s a moot point I suppose. I also meant to write a top ten movies of 2016, but that got put on the back burner. At least for a few days.
