Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisited – Part 45: Anakin Skywalker: Terrible Husband

Wow, talk about coming to a screeching halt. After two really great story arcs, we arrive at this trio of episodes. Ones that genuinely almost put me to sleep while I was watching them. Then again, it was pretty late, so I wasn’t doing myself any favours there.

A story featuring a love triangle and a finance dispute… It’s no wonder this was initially a B-plot in another storyline, one broken off into its own story arc.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisited – Part 44: Six Six Fives

Here we are, Season 6: The Lost Missions. The last remaining episodes of the Clone Wars initial run after Cartoon Network dropped the series. Or maybe it was Disney hungrily grasped all the loose Star Wars projects and clung them to their chest, y’know what business is like.

I’m not entirely sure what to expect from these episodes. With Ahsoka leaving the series during the finale of Season 5, it kind of feels like her departure really would put an end to the series. And yet there was another entire series planned without her. It makes me wonder if this was going to be the last one before it tied back into the beginning of Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisited – Part 43: The Trouble with Ahsoka

This series of episodes almost feel like it could be a series finale, let alone a season finale. We’re talking about the final four episodes of season five and what were, for a while at least, the final appearances of Ahsoka Tano. That was until Disney brought her back as one of the leading figures of their new Star Wars franchise.

And these, are some damn good episodes too. It’s a shame Disney made a real boneheaded decision to cancel this show when they first acquired Star Wars from Lucasfilm, because this season has been the best of the lot overall. Both in terms of animation quality and the level of storytelling.
