Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisited – Part 3: Rise and Fall of Malevolence

From this point on, it’ll mostly be a straight shot through the rest of Season 1. After actually looking at the chronological list on Starwars.com properly for the first time, the the episodes of this anthology series are far less mixed up than I was expecting them to be.

This time though I’ll be dealing with my first three parter, the first of season one that deals with the Separatists’ new secret weapon; a massive battle cruiser which pays more than one homage to the original Death Star called the Malevolence.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revisted – Part 1: U-Boats and Turncoats

Now I’ve got the unfortunate business of talking about that movie aside, we can start this series proper. Clone Wars Revisited, an erroneous name considering I only really saw bits and pieces of the series as it was originally airing. In this series I’m going to watch the 2008 series in chronological order, as helpfully listed on starwars.com for the release of Disney+.

Talking though the stories, the elements of the old expanded universe that persist and those are are reworked for the new, post Disney, continuity. Looking at the series not just as a piece of entertainment, but how it adds to or alters the greater Star Wars continuity.

This first part will only focus on two episodes. I may dig into more in the future or fewer depending on the content of the episodes. This time though, I’m talking about Cat and Mouse; Episode 16 from Season 2 and Hidden Enemy; also Episode 16, this time from the first season.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Revised – Part 0: The 2007 Movie/Pilot

Finally, Disney + has come to the U.K. Thanks licence exclusivity laws. It’s been something I’ve been anticipating for a while now, as it seems like streaming service tailor made for me. Not just because it’s packed with Marvel, Pixar and all manner of other shows and movies Disney has under its giant, monolithic, intimidating umbrella, but because it’s going to allow me to start a series on here I’ve been thinking about doing for years.
